Too many  Perf Counter Name: SIP - 020 - Average Outgoing Queue Delay" alerts from Lync SCOM.

Hi,

We are getting the following alert from SCOM for Lync. There are hundreds of alerts lying in the ticketing tool. Please help in understanding this alert and a remedy to clean the queue. Following is the information from one alert.

Hi,

There is no "Instance Name: federation.messenger.msn.com" shown in the above alerts. We have federation with about 20 external parties so far. Please let me know how to fix these errors. I have already gone through the below article before publishing my question above.

Hi,Vishar,

What is your alert threshold setting?

It's possibly caused by local network latency or the server and/or one or more MCU(s) in the Pool are overloaded,ensure your NIC driver upgrade to the latest version and verify the perfomance on your Lync server.You also can run Lync BPA and wireshark to analyze if there are some issues.

If both report good and there is no function affected by this you can increase the alert threshold on SCOM.

Hello Sharon,

There were no network latency issues identified and there are 100s of alerts like these. All the NIC drivers are up to date and the Lync BPA doesn't show any errors specifically to this. Following is the current threshold counters set for this parameter...

  CounterName: SIP - 020 - Average Outgoing Queue Delay

  ObjectName: LS:SIP - 01 - Peers

  Frequency = 900 seconds

  WarningThreshold = 8

  ErrorThreshold = 20

  NumSamples = 1

Please analyze and let me know your advice accordingly.

I am sorry I am not very familar with SCOM and I'm also in stuck now,I will dig it further if I find some info will let you know.

You can set the threshold value as 50 if the network and server health don't warn you

Add Network Service account to RTC Local Read-only Administrators & RTC Local Administrators on Edge server and reboot it.   You will find these RTC accounts in Local Users and groups on the edge server
